Christmas it is!

Our Street Christmas Tree was decorated today: snow, mulled wine, Santa Claus, carols, neighbours, snowball fights... Full on Christmas. Highlight of the day: Santa's trousers.

Decorating our Street Christmas Tree

Sunday December 19th, 2pm onwards
We will be decorating the tree outside 42 Sulina Road switching on the lights when it gets dark. Bring decorations (home-made or otherwise) to hand from the tree.

We're hoping that Santa Claus will make his annual visit (if he can find his outfit back). Please bring a wrapped present (no more than £3 in value) for your child/ren.

Donations of mince pies or cakes would be much appreciated. Bring them on the day or contact Charmian.

We will also have the grand opening of the new Mosaic next door

It's one of my favorite event of the year. It really sets the Christmas spirit in the street.

Do come along!

The mosaic is taking shape

Lucy and Hannah have started to mount the mosaic outside 42 Sulina Road. It's attracting quite a bit of attention. I think they plan to finish it tomorrow. It will look great when we decorate our street Christmas tree next Sunday.

The mosaic has been made by local children/young people with the help of artist Hannah Littlejones. The design has been inspired by "What is good about our area". It is funded by Lambeth. Many thanks to Barney for the use of his wall and to Lucy for the organisation!

Mysterious white marks: have you seen them?

Strange white marks are appearing on our streets. The same pattern is at several places in Sulina and Morrish roads. Does anyone know what they are?
